One Day

One day I will fall

I will fall

in every drop of rain

and soak my way into the earth

to nourish every single grain

I will be the force

to break open the seed

and drive the roots down

and send the stems skyward 

I will unfold each leaf

and prepare the bloom to burst

I will leap off the petals 

and be the color

that will catch your eye
